Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Your safari adventure begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel in Arusha by your professional safari guide. After a short briefing, you’ll depart in a 4×4 safari vehicle toward Tarangire National Park, approximately a 2-hour drive through scenic Maasai plains. Upon entering the park, you’ll immediately be immersed in its iconic landscape—dotted with towering baobab trees and teeming with wildlife. Tarangire is especially famous for its large elephant herds, but you’re also likely to spot giraffes, wildebeest, zebras, buffalo, and predators such as lions and leopards. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed inside the park, followed by an afternoon game drive along the Tarangire River, where animals congregate during the dry season. As the sun sets, you’ll drive to your lodge or tented camp near the park or in the Manyara/Mto wa Mbu area for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park
After an early breakfast, you’ll head out for a short drive to Lake Manyara National Park, a small but incredibly diverse reserve nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Today is all about exploring the park’s rich ecosystems—from dense groundwater forests and open savannahs to marshes and the expansive alkaline lake itself. During your game drive, you may spot the famous tree-climbing lions lounging in acacia trees, large troops of baboons, hippos wallowing in the water, and hundreds of flamingos and other bird species along the lakeshore. You’ll enjoy a packed lunch at one of the scenic picnic sites, with a backdrop of the Great Rift Valley cliffs. In the afternoon, you may choose to add a cultural tour in nearby Mto wa Mbu village (time permitting), offering insight into the daily life and traditions of various Tanzanian tribes. You’ll return to your lodge or camp for dinner and your second overnight stay.
Day 3: Return to Arusha
On your final day, enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your lodge before beginning your journey back to Arusha. If time allows, and if not done on Day 2, you can opt for a short walking safari or another cultural activity before departure. As you drive back, take in the beautiful landscapes one last time, reflecting on the incredible wildlife encounters and natural beauty experienced over the past two days. You’ll be dropped off at your hotel in Arusha or directly at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) in time for your onward flight.
END OF SAFARI.
