This park is well known for its healthy stock of resident wildlife particularly the “Big Five” namely Lions, Leopards, Elephants, Rhinos and Buffalos.Serengeti is touted to hold the largest population of lions in Africa due in part, to the abundance of prey species whereby more than 3,000 lions live in this ecosystem.Besides, reclusive predators in the name of leopards are commonly seen in the central region but are nonetheless present throughout the national park with a population of around 1,000. Also, this UNESCO world heritage site is home to roughly 200,000 zebras and over
300,000 Thomson’s gazelles which often join millions of wildebeests in their trek for fresh grazing. Here, you will also listen to the exotic sounds of over 6 million hooves pounding the open plains of Serengeti just like how you imagined African wild life to be.

Day 5 – Lake Manyara National Park

Drive off to Lake Manyara National Park via a Maasai village after breakfast. The Park derives its name from the Maasai word Manyara; which is the name for a plant called
Euphorbia Tirucalli and a plant that the Maasai people use to grow livestock stockades.
Manyara produces a stockproof hedge which is very durable among other similar plants.
A specimen of Euphorbia tirucalli is readily available at the entrance of the gate.
The Great Rift Valley Faultline along which the park lies stretches about 8,000 kilometers (4,971 miles) from Turkey to the mouth of the Zambezi River in Mozambique.
