Day 1: Arrival in Arusha – Welcome to Tanzania

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the option to explore the town or relax at the lodge after your international journey. A pre-safari briefing will be given in the evening to prepare you for the adventure ahead. Dinner and overnight will be at your Arusha accommodation.

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, you’ll depart Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant herds, majestic baobab trees, and diverse landscapes. You’ll spend the day exploring the park on game drives, with chances to see lions, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, and over 500 bird species. A picnic lunch will be served at a scenic spot in the park. In the late afternoon, you’ll drive to a lodge or tented camp in the Tarangire/Manyara area for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Tarangire to Lake Eyasi – Cultural Encounters with Hadzabe & Datoga Tribes

Today is dedicated to cultural exploration. After breakfast, you’ll leave Tarangire and head to Lake Eyasi, a less-visited but culturally rich destination. On arrival, you’ll visit the Hadzabe, one of Tanzania’s last remaining hunter-gatherer tribes. You’ll join them on a morning hunt (if time allows), learn about their survival skills, and gain insight into their language and traditions. Later, visit the Datoga tribe, skilled blacksmiths known for their metalwork and traditional dress. You’ll witness their traditional way of life and maybe even try your hand at crafting. Dinner and overnight will be at a lodge near Lake Eyasi.

Day 4: Lake Eyasi to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, begin the journey toward the legendary Serengeti. You’ll pass through the Ngorongoro Highlands, enjoying breathtaking views and stopping at the Ngorongoro Crater viewpoint. Entering Serengeti National Park in the afternoon, you’ll enjoy a game drive en route to your lodge or camp in the central Serengeti. Depending on the season, you may witness part of the Great Migration or predator activity on the plains. Dinner and overnight will be in the Serengeti.

Day 5: Full Day Game Drive in Serengeti National Park

Spend a full day exploring the Serengeti, home to some of the most spectacular wildlife sightings in Africa. Morning and afternoon game drives will take you across the vast savannah, where you’ll search for lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, buffaloes, hyenas, and countless antelope species. If you’re lucky, you may witness dramatic wildlife interactions or the wildebeest migration. You’ll stop for a picnic lunch in the bush and return to your lodge or camp in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater – World Heritage Safari

After an early breakfast and a final game drive in the Serengeti, you’ll begin your drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. In the afternoon, descend into the famous Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best places in Africa to spot the Big Five in a single day. The crater is home to elephants, lions, buffaloes, rare black rhinos, and hippos, all living in a contained ecosystem. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor before ascending and continuing to your lodge on the crater rim or in Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Return to Arusha / Departure

After breakfast, begin your drive back to Arusha with time to shop for local crafts or enjoy lunch at a local restaurant (optional). You’ll be dropped off at your hotel in Arusha or directly at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your onward flight, concluding your rich journey through Tanzania’s wildlife and cultural heart.
